So sad to hear about Iain Banks, one of my favorite authors, in fact, one of the only authors I read now. Follow the link to find out more.
Iain has been a huge inspiration to me as an artist, and even a person in years gone by. I wouldn’t be here without him, thats for sure, his inspirational science-fiction stories gave me a huge amount of confidence to pursue my own way in the art world, when teachers, friends and strangers alike lambasted me for liking comics, for drawing, for being into sci-fi.
His Sci-Fi stories were witty and smart, steps ahead, even now, in their imagination. His portrayal of ships minds in the Culture series is literally the best thing to ever happen to pen and paper, and there will never be another author like him, which makes the news even sadder.
My thoughts go out to him, and I hope he lives the rest of his life in much deserved peace and happiness,
